The Sage Project’s 2024 fundraising was record-breaking for my little non-profit.  Due to donor generosity, the Sage Project was able to sponsor the holiday wish lists of two children from the Catawba Nation’s Tree of Good Spirit (similar to angel tree).  

We sponsored Angel #1, a 10 year old girl and Angel #12, a 7 year old boy.  Angel #1 asked for skin care products, make-up, crochet supplies, Baby-sitter’s Club books, clothes, shoes and “Hatchimals” toys.  Angel #7 asked for “how to draw” books, Mario toys, games (like Cootie, etc), arts & crafts and clothes and shoes.  I am happy to share that thanks our donors, the Sage Project was able to shop for everything on the children’s wish lists and even added some extra gifts.  It was amazing to see the fundraising efforts through our sage mail box bow campaign turn into actual dollars that could be put to work in the Catawba Community.

This past Monday, I checked and labeled all the gifts and loaded them in the car.  Then, I made the drive to the Catawba Nation to drop off the gifts at the donation center at the Long House.  Each child’s parents will receive the gifts that they can wrap as they please.  It makes me so happy to know that these parents will be able to fulfill their children’s holiday wishes.
